College of Law

According to University Decision No. (5316) issued by the Presidency of the University of Duhok on (5/29/2017), the (Legal and Political Research Center) was established at the College of Law/University of Duhok , the center is concerned with the following academic and scientific missions and activities:

1. Determining problems with a legal and political dimension in Kurdistan and Iraqi society in order to conduct legal and political research and studies on them.
2. Determining those phenomena and facts in society that need legal framing and regulation in order to conduct legal and political research and studies regarding them.
3. Communicate with legal and political researchers at the local and international levels to contribute to the center’s activities.
4. Interesting in research cooperation with other research centers and institutions that correspond to the Center in its tasks at the local and international levels.
5. Strengthening the relationship with executive authorities by holding seminars and workshops in order to exchange visions and ideas on some important issues in order to come up with proposals and draft laws that serve the legislative process in the Kurdistan Region.
6. Conducting strategic studies (political and legal) that anticipate the future in the near and medium term regarding what the legal and political issues will be in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
7. Publishing legal and political studies and analyzes which accomplished under the supervision of the Centre, on local, regional and international legal and political issues in the strategic, social and economic fields.
8. Publishing a summary of the activities carried out by the Center on the Center’s website in a way that benefits the concerned parties related to these activities and enhances individuals’ legal awareness.
